How did you get started in your career? What motivated you to take up this career?
A
I love to taking on challenges & responsibilities which motivated me to get into this profile as everyday brings a new challenge for me. Some situations come up suddenly that you don't get time to come up with a solution. You then have to rely on your presence of mind and take a decision on the spot. Admin profile comes with authority as well as a lot of responsibilities. Being a good listener & being patient would help you a lot in this profile as everyone will come to you with their issues & you need your calm to respond to everyone in a pleasant manner.

What is being an office administrator career like?
A
It is a very challenging field. There is a lot to learn. I take care of Vendor Management, Security Management, Stock Management, Event Management, Travel Management, CSR Planning, Employee Co-ordination, Co-ordination with other internal departments etc.

How is a normal day in your work life?
A
Some days are so busy that you don't even get time for lunch & breaks! You need to finish the tasks before their deadline.

Where do you see yourself 5 or 10 years from now?
A
I'm still learning on a regular basis. I would like to be the Admin Head of any multinational organization in the next 5-10 years.

What specialized training and education did you choose to succeed in this field? What inspired you to build the skills? Which among these helped you the most?
A
MIS skills come in very handy. There are a lot of reports & emails you need to deal with, so it is highly recommended to improve your computer skills. Punctuality, dedication towards work, being self-driven, being a good listener and good communication skills are the key to success in this field.

A
Always be honest towards your responsibilities!
