Electrical Design Engineer
A career as an electrical design engineer combines two aspects or qualities, a passion for engineering and a creative bent of mind. Electrical design engineers constitute professionals from the engineering field, who design and develop new electrical equipments meant for commercial, industrial or domestic purposes, for eg. cars, trains, planes or power generation plants. Their job starts with researching on electrical power and concepts to design a new product. This is followed by creating preliminary designs by using CAD (computer aided design), testing and reviewing the product to correct design flaws before they go into production. The role is thus cross functional as it involves coordination with different departments like manufacturing, technical service and quality.Electrical design engineers either work to create new designs or re-evaluate old designs and their work responsibilities may include the following:
- Co-ordinate with engineers and customers on existing engineering products and projects
- Develop preliminary design, maintain and improve electrical instruments, components to enhance quality

- Inspect installations and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Analyze and resolve customer complaints, detect problems and recommend solutions
