As a student of this field you work on finding solutions for design and development on agricultural farm machinery, farm structures, mechanization of agricultural activities, and ways of efficiency in food productivity, conservation of soil and water.

In government organizations, a fresher can expect a salary between INR 3.0 - 3.5 lacs p.a. MNC and NGOs however offer a better bracket. 

Education and Training

Degrees Required:
B.E B.Tech in Agricultural engineering Diploma in Agricultural engineering

The basic eligibility for aspiring candidates is to do a B.E with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and preferable Biology at 10+2. If you would like to pursue an M.E or M.Tech you must clear the GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering).

Depending on your grades you may alternatively go for a Diploma certification which is usually 2-3 years of duration.
